2010: Year of the lame coin design?

Is it just me or is 2010 proving to be the year of the lame coin design? The Kooks and Koalas are nothing special, the Britainia is awful by all accounts, and now the Panda's are substandard. The Panda in the back looks drunk for crying out lowd, and they've used the Bamboo background before also.

Looks like I may have to go with the Libertads next year.:bear_thumb:

I like this 2010 coin. It's expensive though. http://www.mint.ca/store/coin/15-fin...tion=crossSell

I'll rate the new Kooks a C+ compared to the rest of the series,

Perth Tiger Lunars a B. I'm definitely going to keep with this series.

The 2010 Koala is the first of the series that I like: B+

The Panda, not horrible but mediocre, B-

Britannias, blow-off-what-were-they-thinking-freaking horrible, F. I'm gonna buy one just so I have the entire series but I really hope the really screwed the photography cause if that's the best they can make it look-----

I used to but don't now follow Kangaroos because of the insane premium. Ditto for the Canadian Lunar series.

You're correct though in that there aren't any home runs this year.

I just checked out the 2010 1 oz silver Britannia on A***X. Is it me or does the back of it not go with the front at all?

The 2010 hockey player silver Maple leaf sure didn't do it for me.

I actually like the design of this coin.

This is a 1/2 oz coin, isn't it? It doesn't say.

I like that coin too.

There are a few others on that site that are nice too.

But all of them are too expensive (high premuims) for me:bear_cry:

No. That would be 2008, when all the "Obama" bullion coin designs came out.

:111: Haha, the Panda's drunk because the bamboo has fermented. :23_31_2:

But hey, it sure beats the U.S. mint's design for their silver coins, let's take a look:

"Due to the continued, sustained demand for American Eagle Silver Bullion Coins, 2009-dated American Eagle Silver Proof Coins will not be produced."

Oh wait, that was the proof, let's check the uncirculated coin:

"Due to the continued, sustained demand for American Eagle Silver Bullion Coins, 2009-dated American Eagle Silver Uncirculated Coins will not be produced."

Hmmmmmm, I wonder what the 2010s will look like?
